Corridor-H ... BUILD IT !!!
People
listened intently to the words of elected officials during the
January 23, 1999 Corridor-H highway rally in downtown Elkins, WV.
Governor Cecil Underwood
mingled with the crowd, frequently stopping to shake hands and
share words or Corridor-H support with people from all West
Virginia counties.
Woody Simmons and friends provided good
old-fashioned entertainment before the festivities got into full
swing.
Delegate O.B. Collins showed his support by saying, "We need jobs. We
need safety. I'm gonna keep up the fight!"
Rally organizer Bill Hartman gave away Corridor-H
sweatshirts to supporters during the rally. 
Governor Underwood, like many of the rally's participants,
enjoyed free hotdogs and soft drinks provided by area businesses.
Julia
Stevenson, Gov. Underwood, Chris Polino, Joe Martin, Mike Ross
and Walt Helmick cheer the convoy of trucks that paraded thru
downtown Elkins in support of Corridor-H. 

John Roger Losh, II of Elkins proudly carried his Corridor-H banner for all to see.

Joe Gainer of Elkins and his mother Grace Gainer of Parsons waved their sign to all passersby. Mrs. Gainer is one of the "Cookie Ladies" of Parsons, recently recognized by FEMA for their efforts to raise flood control monies thru the sale of baked goods. The "Cookie Ladies" donated $2,000 to the Committee for Corridor-H rally.

At parade end the sorry "alternative" to Corridor-H
appeared ....
