Elkins has a new jewel in its growing crown of historic homes that offer fine and boutique dining with a throwback to yesteryear. That gem is the Smith House on Scott Hill, and the Elkins Purple Majesties kicked off the new year by being the Smith House's first official guests.

What a lovely time we had! The house is beautiful and the ladies enjoyed the wonderful piano music that played throughout our visit. It certainly made us feel extra special. The home is rich in history and Logan Smith was kind enough to read us a little of it before lunch. The food was prepared by his sister Suzi Gordan, and it was delicious!

The home features chandeliers, Victorian furniture, vintage photos and other embellishments, a grand staircase, stained glass entry way, and a variety of hardwoods that are used throughout. Future plans include opening the home as a bed and breakfast. If you are planning a special event, let Smith House be your host. Our ladies are already planning a trip back this summer!

Grant Jones, from The Inter-Mountain newspaper was kind enough to come out and take our photo which was featured on the front page of the January 13th edition.
