Purple Majesties members enjoyed dining beside the beautiful Cheat River in
September. Sitting out on the deck was lovely and one could tell from all the
bright smiles that everyone was having a good time. The lasagna was delicious
and the scenery beautiful. What a wonderful way for our new queens, Gayle and
Evelyn, to start their reign.
The
Cheat River Inn was started as a tavern in the 1940s and it, along with the
nearby lodge, has been a treasured spot for meals and relaxation ever since. The
Inn boast a fine menu of trout, seafood, steaks and more. These mouth-watering
dishes can be enjoyed with a fine glass of wine as you sit by a fire in the
wintertime or take in a cool mountain breeze on a late summer day. The inviting
deck beckons visitors to enjoy the mountain views and overlooks fisherman
hooking their latest catch in the swirling waters of the Cheat River. Under
recent new ownership, the upstairs has been given a facelift and the wide
windows continue the stunning view. Downstairs there are comfortable,
overstuffed chairs by the fireplace and a bar that offers relaxation with every
sip. If you want fine dining, great views, and have the time to treasure the
atmosphere, the Cheat River Inn is the place for you!
