The River Car at Revelle's
provided the picturesque setting for the second red hat luncheon. So many ladies
attended that we spilled out of the historic "Shavers Fork" 1917 Pullman Dining
Car featured at the restaurant, and onto the 4,000 square foot deck that
surrounds it. The ladies enjoyed a scrumptious four course meal -- and a
perfect summer day -- as they overlooked the cool waters of the Cheat River.
This is
when membership really grew and we welcomed our first pink
hatters! My,
how word of mouth had spread in just a month. Chapter names were suggested and
voted on with Elkins Purple Majesties
winning by a landslide. Fifty names were submitted to the official Red
Hat Society and we became a national chapter!
