Elkins Purple Majesties celebrated the founding of the original Red Hat Society with a special afternoon tea party in April. Members were treated to delicious chicken salad croissants, a variety of scones, strawberry shortcake, and her choice of hot or iced tea. It was nice to have an afternoon out with the girls :-)

Unfortunately, Dowager Queen Sharon could not make the tea because she was put in the hospital at 4am early that morning! No matter, several mad hatters took the party to her afterwards when they visited her in the hospital. Sharon's pink hat daughter, Barbara, also snuck in some of the food goodies so Sharon could enjoy. I'm sure we were a sight to see.
