The below poem is posted in honor of our EPM members who enjoyed a Royal Caribbean cruise to Canada. May it bring back fond memories of the man in the flaming red Speedo ...

Favorite
Things
sung to the Julie Andrews tune from
"The Sound of Music"
Maalox and nose drops and
needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazine tied up with string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing
aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings --
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the pipes break,
When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things --
And then I don't feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets, and corn
pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Back pains, confused brains, and
no fear of sinning,
Frail bones and fractures and hair that is thinning,
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things --
When the joints ache, when the
hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad!

Reduation Ceremony (when pink hatters reduate to red hatter)

No longer is 50 a birthday to dread --
but cause for celebration instead.
We salute a former Pink Hatter
as we proudly proclaim that RED HATTERS MATTER!
Now gather ye round, and join hand in hand,
and ask that our sister please stand.
As we carefully lift her pink hat from her head --
we replace it today with a chapeau in red
and we shall drape purple over her shoulder
it is color we wear as we grow older.
Reduation complete -- we announce on this day
Our sister is ready to come out with the big girls and play!
