EPM WEBSITE & NEWSLETTER TO CLOSE JUNE 1, 2010

I was recently informed that the ELKINS PURPLE MAJESTIES Red Hat chapter no longer wishes to host a website or email newsletter. This means that after June 1, 2010 all of the following will cease to exist. These services will go OFFLINE and no longer be available via either the Internet or email:

Please contact the current Queen Mothers (listed below) if you have questions or need any news, photos, or other information about the EPM chapter. It has been fun being your "Redmaster" since 2003 and I hope you too have enjoyed the time we spent together.

Info for May lunch has been updated in menu at right. Pictures for February and March will be uploaded soon. If anyone has pics from the April lunch, please let me know. Sorry for the delay in updating the website. February and March were quite busy for me dealing with my grandfather's illness and death. March and April I was dealing with a big changeover in computer hosting for the website and a change in Internet service providers as well. Until those technical issues were completely resolved, I was unable to update the site. Things are getting back to normal now. Thanks for your patience.

REMINDER ... for members to sign up at York Photo so you can view our pictures. Orders for pictures or photo gifts can also be placed via York. See the JANUARY 31, 2010 update below for specific details. Email REDMASTER Barbara if you need an invitation.

Please take special note of the January 31, 2010 update on this page concerning our new GROUP ROOM for photo albums at York. All current members of the EPM Newsletter (as of Feb 8, 2010) should have already received an EMAIL INVITATION to join York with instructions on accessing the Group Room. Please check your inbox or other folders for an email from "Barbara McQuain" and with the subject line "Your friend Barbara has sent you a message". That is the email invitation that YOU NEED TO RESPOND TO in order to join York and start seeing and sharing our Red Hat photos! If you have any problems, please email REDMASTER Barbara.

Other website updates: 

• Pictures and event write-up have been uploaded for January at Smith House. 

• Questions and Answers have been added to the FAQ. 

• New online shopping links have been added to the shopping section. 

• The event menu at right has been revised and updated (please see January 31, 2010 update below) to include permanent links for the Group Room of photos and a few other things.

• The link to our new GROUP ROOM of photo albums at York is:

NOW ORDER EPM PHOTOS & GIFTS ONLINE!
Photos will stay online longer!

PLUS ... upload your own photos to share with other Red Hatters.

The look of the information menu at right has been updated and revised slightly. It now contains a permanent link to EPM photo albums in a "Group Room" at York Photo. This Group Room contains individual photo albums for Elkins Purple Majesties events. Photos can be viewed online in slideshow format, or individually. By taking advantage of the York service, images can now be viewed larger and in higher quality. Plus, pictures can stay online indefinitely! No longer will we have to take some photos down to free up space for new entries. You will be able to go back and look at chapter photos from the very beginning right up until present day!!

The exciting changes don't stop there. The BEST PART of the Group Photo Room is that we are now able to offer our members the ability to ORDER PRINTS  -- and -- PHOTO GIFTS right online. PLUS ... since the Group Room is shared by all, you can upload your own Red Hat photos too! YES, the Group Photo Room allows us ALL to share ALL our photos ALL in one place. Members can even create special projects (such as calendars, photo books, and cards) and share them with others. See the links for our Group Room, Photo Gifts and general York Photo information at the end of this update.

NOTIFICATION - STILL THE SAME: As Redmaster, I will notify members of additions to the Group Photo Room at York once a month via both the chapter website: www.mcquain.com/redhat and email. Write-ups for monthly luncheons and other events will continue to be posted at the chapter website. Write-ups will include the link for the specific event's photo album within the York Group Room. News, chapter information, meeting times, and other information will also continue to be posted at the chapter website. The email chapter newsletter will also operate as it has been. 

TO VIEW OUR GROUP ROOM & PHOTO ALBUMS - RESPOND TO MY EMAIL INVITATION & JOIN YORK: Basically, everything will continue to run the same way it has been -- only the overall photo section is growing and improving! I have been working on uploading all new and old event photo albums to the York Group Room in order to take full advantage of these new opportunities. I will send hatters an invitation to join the York Group Room. Look for an email in your inbox from York Photo. Please follow the link in that email invitation to join York and starting exploring all the wonderful new photo possibilities!

RED HAT / EPM DENIM SHIRTS FOR SALE!

We have denim shirts with "Elkins Purple Majesties" in purple over the left chest pocket & a red hat on each collar tip. For those who were Queens in the past there is a gold crown hanging on the "E" in Elkins, and the others will have a gold purse.  If we can get these orders in by the 23rd and ordered, we can get them in by the middle of December.

The Inter-Mountain has photos from the January luncheon posted online in their CU Photo Gallery ("Red Hats Visit Scott Hill"). 1) Sign into the newsletter home at Yahoo! Groups using your Yahoo ID and password (sign in/sign up link is at top of page).

2) Once at the newsletter home click on the calendar in the left menu.

3) At the calendar click ADD EVENT and fill in the form. Here is an example:
